Decoding DeepSeek's "Boundary-Breaking" Power
Exploring Tomorrow's World of AI Technology
DeepSeek: Retrospective on Three Schools of Al and Strengthening General Education
Recently, DeepSeek has surged to global prominence through its system-level collaborative innovations in algorithms, models, and systems. By synergizing collective intelligence and collaborative efforts, it has achieved groundbreaking milestones, sparking boundless imagination for technological breakthroughs and challenges in advancing toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Through open-source initiatives, it accelerates the democratization of universal intelligence across society. To foster a deeper understanding of DeepSeek's pioneering exploration at the intersection of technology, application, and ethics, as well as its dual strategies of "breaking boundaries" and "establishing roots," we are proud to launch the DeepSeek Series Specialized Online Open Courses. This initiative systematically deciphers the technical philosophy behind its ecosystem evolution while sparking interdisciplinary dialogues about intelligent civilization and collaborative innovation.

Abstract:This report traces the historical development of AI algorithms through the lens of three foundational schools of thought—symbolicism, connectionism, and behaviorism—analyzing their complementary strengths and limitations. Addressing the current focus on generative AI, it explores the interconnections among ChatGPT, Sora, and DeepSeek, emphasizing that DeepSeek's exceptional performance stems from system-level collaborative innovations across algorithms, models, and systems, achieved through the synergy of collective intelligence and collaborative efforts. Finally, it introduces Zhejiang University's ongoing initiatives in AI general education, proposing that a holistic framework integrating systematized knowledge, constructive competence, creative values, and human-centric ethics constitutes the essential literacy for the AI era.
